Last year, I was approached to do part-time assistant lecturing in the college I attended for my degrees. Teaching has always been something that I wanted to do or at the very least try but to be honest, never thought it possible because of my nerves. With that in mind, I decided to say yes and at least give it a go. The modules I teach are Branding and Editorial Design Fundamentals (Semester 1), Motion Graphics (Semester 2), and Entrepreneurship in the Creative Industries. As part of this, I created the lecture notes and the practicals that the students worked on (well the InDesign ones I did!) For illustrator, I found some great worksheets for teaching the pen tool but everything else was my own. So far, the experience has been incredible and the nerves have thankfully stayed away.
